This book argues that fiction pedagogy in Indonesia must be rooted in lived experiences, local knowledge systems, and intersecting struggles for gender equity, ecological justice, and cultural recognition. Through the integration of decolonial, feminist, and arts- based methodologies, the textbook constructs an alternative pedagogical framework grounded in visual, affective, and relational literacies. Fiction, in this context, becomes a space not simply for interpreting meaning but for generating new meaning—one that challenges dominant discourses, elevates silenced voices, and opens a plurality of perspectives. The structure of this textbook offers both a theoretical foundation and a pathway toward praxis.
